Spyshots: 2014 MINI Cooper Shows Almost Everything

The future, all-new MINI Cooper was already caught testing before but back then it was wearing heavy camouflage that made it hard to see how the final design will look like. Today's spyshots allow us to get a better idea of how the new, UKL-based car will look like, even though it still has that pesky camouflage wrap.

The first thing you'll notice is that the front fascia is somehow reshaped. The headlights seem more within the Countryman territory, whilst the grille looks smaller than on the current model.

The hood looks longer, which might indicate the possibility of seeing some new, bigger engines on the future models. We do hope we'll get to see the 200 HP/liter 3-cylinder unit on the new UKL MINI, but for the moment, we can't be sure.

The thinner A-pillars were definitely reshaped in order to give the driver more visibility, since most users complained about this fact. Furthermore, the driver's seat position seems slightly changed, judging by the position of the woman behind its wheel.

Since we're talking about the interior, another major change will be the disappearance of the center mounted, huge speedometer, judging by our spyshots. Instead, we'll be seeing a more traditional BMW-oriented dash with radio controls and maybe even a navigation screen.

While we're discussing premieres we should also talk about the elephant in the room. The test car is driven by a lady. This is the first time we've seen a woman behind the wheel of a prototype car and there might be more to this move than you might expect.

It might just be that MINI decided to attract more women to its dealerships and got one of them to tell them what she thinks about it and how they could improve it. In that case, expect the new car to come with a lot of subtle changes, especially on the inside.
