Spyshots: 2014 MINI Cooper Convertible Sheds Camo

Since BMW took over MINI in 2001, a whole lot of things changed in Oxford, from names and numbers down to engines, platforms and even new models. Apart from the hatchback, BMW also brought forward the MINI Convertible back in the early 2000s and today, the soft-top model is close to its 3rd iteration.

Our spy photographers caught the new version out testing near Munich with less camo around, showing us that an official unveiling might be closer than you think. Why is that? Because we already know how the interior will look like and what engines it’s going to use. They will be the same as on the hatch, no surprises expected there.

However, we’ll have to wait and see just how the retractable roof will work. We’re expecting it to be a little faster and more resistant to cold and rain. Until we get some official info on the matter, we get to feast ourselves on some spyshots. Enjoy!
