It seems like MINI is really set to adopt the new UKL platform on as many vehicles as possible. And who could blame them? It’s been developed by BMW and it will help turn down the costs.
In this regard, the Oxford engineers are hard at work testing the upcoming MINI Cooper Clubman, the one that will mark the second generation in the model’s history.
At the moment, we can see the car under heavy camouflage, riding on the back of a flatbed trailer. However, we can still spot some interesting details.
If this really turns out to be the new Clubman, it will be considerably bigger than its predecessor, gaining 2 doors (the previous one had 4) and a lot of space. Now it looks more like an MPV.
Still, we think the base models might be fitted with the new 1.5-liter engines from the B38 family whilst the upper spec versions will adopt the new gen 2-liter turbocharged units.
