The Mercedes Benz E-Class range will continue as is through the 2013 model year, but big changes should be announced next year. Because of the new S-Class that’s also coming in 2013, many new models made by the Germans will undergo a design transformation.
The E-Class will also be completely revised, and it will feature a new front end, with a different grille, hood, single-unit headlights and a revised lower air intake. Mercedes’ future models with do away with the sharper angles and use more softer lines instead.
The engine range will most likely include the 3.5-liter V6 for the E350 and the 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8 for the E500/E550. As for the E63 AMG, the engine in that monster should continue to remain the same.
Among the new technologies rumored for the E-Class, we’d mention the congestion assist that lets you follow another car through traffic, and the camera-based detection system that adjusts the suspension for potholes it sees.
