You really can’t over emphasize the importance the C-Class carries for Mercedes right now. BMW’s 3-Series is all-new and sales are picking up for the Bavarians from China to the US, and Mercedes needs an answer soon.
We liked what they did with the facelift for the C-Class, changing over 2,000 parts ad improving the quality of what already was a brilliantly thought out interior.

But the new C-Class promises to be even better. The prototype seen here is undergoing track testing at the Nurburgring track, hidden behind heavy camouflage. Underneath it is a brand new styling dyrection for the automaker, with flowing lines instead of boxy ones. We only need to look at the F800 concept to see where designers are headed with this one.

Brand new architecture will be underpinning the W205 C-Class, lighter and stiffer than ever before. The car will also be slightly wider and longer with better interior room.

Brand new turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will be used, along with a plug-in hybrid application.

The all-new C-Class is expected to debut at next year’s Frankfurt Motor Show ahead of it launch in 2014.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
