Sales of the i10 have been good, especially in India and Korea, but the city car is facing stiff competition in Europe from the brand new Volkswagen Up! and its twin brothers from SEAT and Skoda.
A brand new i10 hatchback is coming our way in 2014 or maybe even sooner than that. We've heard from our spy photographers who captured these photos of the next-gen model is being benchmark tested against the Up!
We've also heard that the i10 is being developed as a global car, to be offered in the US as well under the name Brilliant.
The i10 will be designed using Fluidic design language, with large headlights and fog lights. The engine range will include a next-generation 1.1-liter CRDI turbo diesel with variable geometry, pumping out 75 PS. The petrol engines will be revised version of the current fuel-sippers.
