Ford is working on new generations of both the Ford Tourneo compact commercial vehicle with two seats and a load bed, but also the Tourneo Connect, with seating for five or potentially even seven people.
Our spy photographers have caught the first ever glimpses of this vehicle in prototype form, and sent us some very telling photos. Just like the full-size Transit, which looks like a Focus, this too looks a little bit more like a car, the Fiesta to be more precise.
The prototype features a roof hinged hatch, but like the current Connect it will also have two hinged doors as an option.
The current generation Transit Connect has been in production since 2002. So presumably, this will a brand new vehicle, one which is expected to go on sale in the US as well, as a 2014 model year.
Engine options should include 1.6 or 1.8 Duratorq TDCi turbodiesels, or a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Duratec.
