Stop the presses, the next generation of the BMW X5 will have the same sort of iDrive display at the top of the dash as BMW’s latest automobiles. We expected more, but the Bavarians are notorious about not changing very much in terms of interior design and this appears to be true to the X5 as well.
Still, this is a test mule, so the interior actually comes from the current generation car, with the only changes being the top of the console and the edge of the dash.
But the F15 will have an interior that’s more centered around the driver. Hiding behind that cover is a new iDrive button which is rumored to have touchpad-like controls on top.
BMW is also rumored to increased the safety features of the car, including more interior airbags and even the pedestrian airbag used by the Volvo V40.
