Spyshots: 2014 BMW X4 Interior Shows New Dash

Fortunately for us, the BMW drivers that test the newest prototypes on the Nurburgrings are getting more and more careless. As a result, our trusty spy photographers caught the upcoming X4 with the doors open.

Guess what? The new car seems to have a somewhat new dashboard. Just like what we and most of the other journalists out there speculated, it seems like the X4 will share most of the dash with the current X3.

As you can see in these photos, the iDrive screen is somehow hidden in the dash, somewhere next to the instrument cluster and is not using a stand-up design as we've been getting used to on the X5 and other BMW models.

At first, it looks kind-of awkward, reminding us of old Opel Vauxhall Astra and their center sunk-in displays. Even though it might seem weird at first, taking an even closer look you'll notice that the design is even more driver oriented.

Thanks to the new orientation of the screen, the rear passengers will have a hard time seeing it, whilst the driver will be finding it really helpful. Sure, for now, everyone will scream and shout and criticize but we think, in the end, we'll all like the new interior and the way the dash is laid out.
