Spyshots: 2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Facelift Disguised as S-Class

Bentley recently played a British joke on the Germans, as our spy photographers spotted the 2014 Continental Flying Spur test vehicle disguised as a Mercedes S-Class, another car in this class that is currently performing tests before its launch.

Unlike the Merc, the Bentley will not get a new generation (even though they call it a new car), but a complex facelift, just like the Continental GT. The revamped version of Bentley’s entry-level saloon, if we can call the car so, will use a multitude if new exterior details, such as the front and rear lights, exterior mirror, a more upright front grille, door handles that sit lower on the doors, a slightly different roofline and new doors, as well as new front and rear fascias.

As far as the tech side is concerned, the Flying Spur will follow the recipe of the Continental GT, which means that it will receive a new twin-turbo V8 engine alongside its current W12 powerplant.

PS: on second thought, this is German humor played on Germans and since the VW Group aims to become the world’s No. 1 car company, it’s no wonder that they want to play with Mercedes-Benz.
