A pre-production prototype of the upcoming CLS Shooting Brake has been spotted testing on he famous German Nurburgring track recently.
The car is not actually a shooting brake in the true sense of the word. Rather, it’s an elegant estate version of the car that revolutionized the four-door coupe market in the first place. The model we are looking is the CLS 500 version, powered by a 4.7-lliter V8 with 408 hp. But the engine range will likely also include the 204 PS diesel for the 250 CDI BlueEfficiency model, the 265 PS 350 CDI, and the 306 PS 350 petrol. Also expected is an AMG version, using the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8.

Judging by the relative lack of camouflage, the CLS estate model should debut later this year. Since the E-Class Estate is a class leader in terms of luggage space, we don’t expect this to disappoint either in this aspects.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
