We’re still not sure if the two-door 3-Series will be called a 4-Series or not, but the car you see in our brand new spyshots definitely uses the F30’s platform. But don’t be deceive by the fact that it looks like it has four doors, because it also packs a hatch... at the back. Yes, it’s the brand new 3er Gran Turismo, codenamed F34 and scheduled to be unveiled this year.
Much of the camouflaged body is familiar to us from the F30 3-Series sedan, but the whole back end has been changed. Unlike the 5-Series GT, this is lower and more svelte. No camel hump here!

In addition to this, the 3-series GT will offer a simple hatch function rather than the twin trunk arrangement on the 5-Series GT.

As for the engine range, you can be sure it will be made up of turbocharged petrol and diesel units. Transmission choices should include a six-speed manual and optional eight-speed automatic across the engine range. The M version is unlikely, but BMW is supposedly already developing the ActiveHybrid 3 Gran Turismo.
