Using the fresh platform that was developed for the F30 3-Series sedan, BMW is now working on the biggest and widest estate they’ve ever put together. Today, our car spies have managed to catch up to the brand new F31 Touring, covered only partially as it was undergoing winter testing.
The 3-Series Touring will be very practical, boasting 0/20/40 flat-folding rear seats, a boot cover that retracts and lowers with the boot lid, and the glass window in the tailgate opens separately.
The front end will borrow all the styling elements of the sedan, and rumor has it that the Modern, Luxury and Sport lines will all be available. The engine range will of course be borrowed from the F30, both petrol and diesel four- and six-bangers with forced induction.
The 3-Series Touring should be introduced by the end of the year and will be available in the US as well.
