The convertible version of the Audi RS5 has been due for a long time, and here it finally is... well... almost. A prototype for the car, wearing heavy camouflage, has been spotted going round the famous Nurburgring track in Germany.
You might be tempted to say this is just another Audi with no roof, but it’s so much more - wider wheel arches, bigger air intakes, wheels and other go-faster bits. But the most important part is not the brakes, the suspension or the wing, it’s the engine.
You see, the RS5 Cabrio will sport the most extreme version of the 4.2-liter V8 engine under its hood. This means a raw engine sound and 450 horsepower on tap, going to all four wheels.
The cabrio will not skimp on luxury either, offering a complete package in terms of comfort, as well as the latest LED headlights and plenty of tech toys.
The 2013 Audi RS5 Cabrio will definitely be available in the US and should debut before the 2012 Paris Motor Show, which takes place this September.
