The new 911 has created quite a stir with its evolutionary approach to design and chassis development. The 2012 mode was unveiled last week at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt, but it’s now time to take a look at the convertible version of the sportscar.
From a design point of view, there’s not much to talk about. The spy photos show light camouflage here and there, but we already know that svelte body by heart, so there’s really no need for that. The car you see here is obviously the Carrera S model, since it has four exhaust tips round the back. In this configuration, the car offers 400 horsepower from a 3.8-liter flat-six to the rear via either a seven-speed manual of optional PDK.
The most interesting 911 Cabriolet model is sure to be the the Turbo, which should bring about 530 horsepower when it arrives at the end of next year. If power isn’t your thing, then Porsche can also offer you the base Carrera and its 3.4-liter straight-six with 350 ponies.
