It’s a G-Wagon with big wheels, lots of chrome and looks to scare little children, so it can only be the G55 AMG. This is the second sighting of the model (first one here), but this time it’s a silver example with most of the other features unchanged.
Our spy photographers have said before that the noise coming from under that angular bonnet is actually from a V8, and this is probably because the vehicle has received an overdose of power from the new 5.5-liter V8 with twin turbos that has been making its presence felt in a number of vehicles wearing AMG badges. We're not sure yet, but this could mean that it's to be called the G63 AMG now.
Cosmetically, the biggest change is that enlarged lower grille that's there to scoop up more air. But the mirrors have also been switched to more aerodynamic ones that still have incorporated indicators.
Mercedes has plans to phase out the G-Wagon soon, so they’re also preparing an all mighty swan song in the form of the insane G65 AMG, powered by a V12 engine that could deliver a staggering 600 hp to scare the pants off the X5 M.
