This time it's about the Sharan. The loooong-awaited Volkswagen Sharan replacement is on its way and, as you can see, undergoing testing. In case you missed out on the story, it is some 14 years since the current generation Sharan is on the market, despite the facelift received in 2000.
Back to the 2011 version, the new Sharan will follow the trend seen in the industry today and grow in dimensions. It will also feature two sliding doors for easy access to the passenger compartment.
Engine wise, the Sharan will undoubtedly make use of the developments achieved over the 14 years since it entered the market. Even if it is a bit too early to say, speculation is that the new minivan will make use of petrol engines with power output ranging from 115 to 200 hp, as well as TDIs with some 160 hp.
Even if initially it was expected the Sharan will be launched sometimes in 2010, it now appears it will only make its entrance in 2011, probably at the Geneva Auto Show. Price wise, the Sharan is expected to stand above the current generation.
