Spyshots: 2011 Volkswagen Sharan

When the new Volkswagen Sharan spy shots arrived, everyone in the office got excited as they were hoping to see something more than the last time. Actually the last two times, as we were no strangers to the MPV’s spy shots.

Unfortunately, everybody got a little disappointed as the spy shots we just got are not as hot as we had hoped. In the new pictures, the Volkswagen Sharan did not lose any of the camouflage we last saw. The car is still black and the same important areas remained covered.

Even if it’s impossible to see the headlights, you can still understand the overall shape, so there is no question about the new generation of the Volkswagen MPV looks. It’s quite clear the car will look like its successful little brother, the Golf MK VI. If you’re the conservatory type, no need to worry. Even with the Golf’s headlights and front grille, the Sharan will still be an evolutionary development of the current design.

As you may recall, the Sharan was launched in 1995 and it’s currently 14 years old, one of Volkwagen’s oldest vehicles in production. By the time the Germans will present the vehicle at the 2010 Geneva Show, the MPV will turn 16 and that’s really old by today’s standards.

In order to cope with the competition from Ford, Renault and Opel, the new Sharan is significantly bigger than the previous generation. Another new aspect will be the two sliding doors which might be motorized. Until further details, enjoy the pictures.
