Spyker B6 Venator Rumored to Get Lotus Engine

Word has it Dutch sportscar manufacturer Spyker is looking to fit its upcoming B6 Venator model with a Lotus-built V6 engine.

According to, Spyker CEO Victor Muller has sent out a letter to the company’s potential customers that confirms the Venator will be powered by a Lotus-built engine that uses a Toyota-sourced block. The source adds the unit could be the same supercharged 3.5-liter V6 found in the Lotus Exige S, which means it’ll deliver 350 HP and 400 Nm of torque.

Moreover, the letter indicates Spyker will offer a limited launch edition co-developed with Chronoswiss to the first 100 customers. The special edition will come with an aluminum dash that will include a Chronoswiss clock and a matching Chronoswiss watch engraved with the vehicle’s production number.

Lastly, the article says Spyker is accepting pre-orders for €20,000 ($27,170 / £16,980), while production is scheduled to commence in November 2014.
