We're bringing you the latest footage of the Toyota Yaris facelift, a video taken at various stages of the car's development. It's not just another facelift though, as not only is the body getting completely made over, but so is the engine range.
We think this particular test vehicle sounds like a three-cylinder engine with a turbo. Now, the base mode Yaris already has the 1-liter L3 engine rated at 68 hp and 93 Nm, but now it sounds like a sportier version. This is only speculation based on what we think we hear, but it makes sense.

Turbocharged three-cylinder engines are popular in the supermini class, with at least half the new Ford Fiestas sold in Europe being purchased with 1.0-liter EcoBoost engines. Renault also sells lots of Clios with its 0.9 TCe 90, while Peugeot will have a small turbo for use in the 308 early in 2014.

We think Toyota's 1-liter turbo engine will have about 90 to 100 hp and a much needed 150+ Nm of torque.

Previous spyshots of the Yaris facelift have revealed Toyota will start offering bi-xenon headlights and other cool features on the car, finally making a competitively equipped model, not just one that boasts the best safety.
