The C-segment hot hatch market is a virtual party right now. We've got the new Golf GTI, the new Focus ST, the new Opel Astra OPC and of course the new Audi S3, BMW M135i and Mercedes A45 AMG.
The only thing missing, really, is the a new Megane RS and a new Honda Civic Type R. That last car is officially confirmed for a 2015. Honda even went as far as to write graffiti on the Nurburgring to let us know the new Type R is coming!

We have the latest video showing the prototype Civic Type R testing at the Nurburgring. From it, we've been able to deduce that the Japanese hot hatch could indeed have a rear wheel steering system, since the turn-in is very sharp.

Honda is believed to be testing different engine setups for the car, and they've already officially announced the Type R will have at least 280 hp. But new reports suggest the output could be as high as 300 horsepower. We may also see Honda's in-house tuner Mugen making a more powerful version of the car.

Either way, they've promised us the fastest front-wheel drive car ever to have lapped the Nurburgring and they will deliver. Too bad that we'll have to wait until 2015 to see it.
