As BMW got us used to a lot of ad-hoc premieres, we wouldn't be surprised if the X4 was released prior to our expectations. At the moment, everyone is waiting for the new SAC to be released in late 2014, but BMW might surprise us.
In our latest batch of spyshots, we get a glimpse of the upcoming model that is supposed to be based on the F25 X3 and have a different, more dynamic and aggressive shape, similar to its bigger brother, the X6.
As times changed, we now know that the X6 will further grow in size, making the differences between it and the X4 even bigger. However, the roof's sloping lines will be kept on the smaller SAC and the wider wheel arches will contribute to its new character.
About its engines, we're pretty sure, the new model will have the same units as the X3, ranging from a 2-liter petrol unit with 184 HP to the 3-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder N55 one with 306 HP.
As for looks, the patent images we showed you last week should give you a pretty clear idea as to what you should expect in design terms. An M version and Alpina, Hartge and G-Power versions are also expected somewhere in 2015.
