It was 2011 when BMW launched the second model in the 1 Series model's history and as we're getting close to the end of the 3rd year of its lifespan, the company is naturally preparing the Life Cycle Impulse for the smallest model in its line-up.
As expected, the major changes (if they can be called that) will probably be limited to the front end, as the spy shots show. After all, that was the area that was most criticized when the new car was launched.
As we've seen on recent models of the German manufacturer, the LCI 1 Series might also receive the Air Curtain elements that will further help with fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels.
Unfortunately, due to the camouflage of the cars in the photos, we can't really tell what other changes will be done to the car, except possibly for a redesign of the headlamps that would connect them to the kidney grilles as seen in recent models.
Since it's not planned to be released until 2014, the improved 1 Series could also benefit from new technologies and new engines such as the ones from the B38 family (1.5-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged) but that remains to be seen.
