Having to wait so much for the reinvented 2021 Ford Bronco (now the patience needs to stretch all the way to summer of 2021) has certainly been an asset... for the competition. Case in point, this particular Bronco enthusiast made the decision to give up on the Blue Oval and instead buy a Chevy Colorado ZR2.
Now, bronco6g.com user www86aws was one of the fortunate few to spot a 2021 Bronco dwelling in a parking lot. It’s a 4-Door Race Red Wildtrack Bronco with the Sasquatch package and a soft top – a model that kicks off at a smidge below the $50k mark ($49,475 to be precise).

Next to it sits a Chevy Colorado ZR2, the spotter's recent acquisition, a truck that’s worth $42,340 when selecting the Crew Cab, Short Box configuration with the ZR2 trim.

Interestingly, before we discuss the Colorado ZR2 owner’s comments regarding the Bronco, we could note the fact that it’s an example that has popped up all over the place recently. Naturally, it’s not the first Race Red Wildtrack example we have seen before but it’s probably the exact same one we saw caught next to a lifted Jeep Wrangler JKU.

Coincidence or not, now the Sasquatched Bronco has gotten a new comparison companion; it's not as evenly matched as that red Jeep, but just as tempting, nonetheless.

This is because the Colorado ZR2 is a great off-road pickup truck, complete with a powerful 3.6-liter V6 mill that’s almost capable of matching the Bronco’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost with its 308 hp and 275 lb-ft (372 Nm) of torque – against a projected level of 310 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) for the Ford.

That doesn’t matter to the Bronco fan from within, apparently, as the forum user now explains the Wildtrack looks “beautiful” and the Race Red color bodes well against the black soft top. He notes the “Bronco is not that much higher than my truck (31" tire) but it's much wider and I'm jealous!

No wonder, then, why he is second-guessing his decision to abandon the Bronco in favor of the ZR2. By the look of things, he will even try to convince the missus not to give up on their initial reservation and perhaps even find a way to lure her into buying the Bronco for the household.
