Everyone loves a good detective story, especially if it’s of the true-crime American type. This spring, Netflix struck gold again with the docuseries Tiger King, which was able to capture the nation’s attention and reignite the debate on whether Joe Exotic is an innocent man or not.
Joe Exotic is currently serving a 22-year sentence in federal prison on charges ranging from murder-for-hire to violations of the Lacey Act and Endangered Species Act, for supposed mistreatment of the big cats at his G.W. Zoo in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Even before that, he was a controversial but still very popular figure, and he even ran for President of the U.S. in 2016 and Governor of Oklahoma in 2018.

The Tiger King series was able to show a more controversial side of him, while reigniting the debate that he may have been falsely imprisoned. It also sparked an unprecedented wave of interest in everything Joe Exotic-related, from his music to his fashion, and his choice of transportation.

The Lawyer Garage shop from Virginia Beach is hoping to ride this wave of increased attention to sell a Tiger King replica van that comes with its very own animal trailer and, of course, a tiger. It goes without saying, the tiger isn’t real but it’s big enough to fool bystanders from a distance – and to make whoever buys the lot feel like a modern-day Joe Exotic.

The 2004 Chevrolet Astro van and the trailer are obviously meant as a joke, as it’s obvious from the decals: “Don’t meth with tigers,” “#FreeJoe,” “Joe Exotic for President” under his mugshot, and photos of the “cold case” of the disappearance of Carole Baskin’s husband. Baskin is the owner of Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida and Joe Exotic’s biggest rival. She is also the woman Exotic tried to have murdered by hiring a hitman.

As for the replica van, here’s where the joke ends: the listing says the lot sells for $295,000 with the possibility of “reasonable offers [being] considered.” The van doesn’t have a VIN number, is sold as-is and comes with over 110,000 miles on the clock. But, hey, you get the stuffed toy tiger in the back!

If you think that’s simply too much money to pay for a non-street-legal old van with a garish wrap job, you should know it’s all for a good cause. Lawyer Garage says all proceeds will go to an animal charity, “so buy with your heart!”
