Behold the V8 sound that will make you stop what you are doing and just listen. This glorious noise is coming out of the back of a Maserati GranSport Trofeo race car which was recently spotted by Marchettino doing laps around the Imola track, in San Marino.
So, where is this eardrum-cleansing noise coming from? Well, the Trofeo is powered by a an engine displacing 4.2-liters, split equally amongst its eight cylinders arranged in a 90° ‘vee’ formation, developing 425 hp. The result is one of the most pleasing V8 sounds we have ever heard (and we have heard quite a few) which we could listen to for hours on end without having to do anything else.
It sounds like more of an engine noise, and not something which is the result of extensive exhaust tuning, as is the case with most sporty modern cars. We need to listen to these stunning noises, because we are approaching a time when they will banned from use, or nobody will be able to afford the petrol to run it.
