Spider-Man McLaren 650S and Superman Mercedes SLS AMG: Superhero Supercars

It seems some of the craziest custom wraps in the supercar world are happening in Singapore of all places. For the past several weeks, a company called WrapStyle has been cranking out exotic cars that have been transformed to look like famous superheroes, ranging from the Man of Steel to the Hulk.

It's quite common for cars to be transformed into heroes since the childhood of every science geek and computer nerd is dominated by powerful fictional characters. Wrapping a car is easy these days, but doing it in such a complex and classy way is an entirely different story.

Anyway, let's dive in and look at the job these Singapore wrappers have done. My personal favorite is the McLaren 650S themed after Spider-Man. It's not because I love the web-slinger, far from it, in fact.

If you spare a few neurons and think about it, New York's hero and the McLaren brand have a lot in common. While Peter Parker is a skinny bookworm who uses his wits to take down the Rhino and Doctor Octopus, the 650S is super-light and competes against the Italians without a mechanical diff or AWD.

Singapore has a lot of skyscrapers, so maybe the next Spider-Man movie should be based there because he sure has a lot of fans in the country.

Is there a link between the Mercedes SLS AMG and Superman? Yes, two in fact. First of all, Superman has that whole Aryan race thing going on, since he is better than everybody on the planet. Secondly, AMG is all about having more power, and to hell with your control bullshit.

Still not enough superhero supercars? I think so myself. That's why there's a Batman version of the Audi R8 that makes absolutely no sense to me and a Hulk-themed Nissan GT-R. Nothing says "Hulk smash" quite like being able to tune your twin-turbo Japanse car to around 2,000 horsepower.

Sticking to the Avengers theme, we present the Iron Man Lamborghini Aventador. We don't get it either, but maybe Bruce and Tony decided to exchange billionaire stories and swap supercars.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
