Described as “carbon composite accessories,” the carbon-fiber body kit from SpeedKore sells only as a body kit at $4,562 excluding freight and sales tax where applicable. Consisting of a front splitter and a pair of rocker panels, this upgrade “adds an exotic touch and more aggressive styling to your mid-engine sports car.”
Available in two finishes – matte clear and gloss clear – the “Chevrolet C8 Corvette Aero Kit” from SpeedKore also happen to be rather plug-and-play as far as installation is concerned. For the front spoiler, you need a T15 Torx bit and a ratchet. After jacking the car up – with utmost attention to the jacking points – remove the undertray screws, position the spoiler, screw it, and you’re finished.

The rocker panels require a few more tools, starting with a sharpie marker. The list further includes 3M yellow tape, a template, 7-millimeter socket, 3/16 and 11/32 drill bits, three Torx bits (T10, T15, and T30), a ratchet, and an impact wrench. As you can tell from the following video, you also need toremove ECU box screws in order to position the tape drill template to make holes for the rocker panels.

Towards the end of the clip, you can also see SpeedKore using a rivet gun and rivets to affix the carbon-fiber garnish to the car. The body kit offered by the Wisconsin-based shop serves as an alternative to Chevrolet’s popular option, so popular that the supplier had trouble meeting demand. Alas, the golden bowtie has temporarily discontinued the “5VM” Visible Carbon Fiber Ground Effects package three months ago. The peeps at SpeedKore, however, aren’t the only alternative.

ACS Composite of Quebec has a 5VM pack of its own available as a kit at $6,098 or as standalone parts. The high-wing spoiler is included in the kit or available as a distinct item at 1,199 including shipping. Of course, multiple finishes are available in the guise of Carbon Flash, Black, Shadow Gray, Arctic White, and Torch Red.

On a related note, have you heard the C8 Corvette Z06 is rumored to get ultra-aggressive tires, carbon-fiber wheels, and active aerodynamics in addition to the 9,000-rpm LT6 flat-plant crankshaft V8 engine?
