Speedemissions Launches CARbonga Version II Safety iPhone App

Following the first iPhone app for basic automobile safety, Speedemissions has now made available for iPhone owners its CARbonga Version II app in the iTunes store.{ad]CARbonga is the first app (also runs on the iPad and iPod touch) to give the motorist their vehicle’s basic safety information by reading the safety system codes through its On-Board Diagnostic (OBDII) system.

The app, priced at $9.99, delivers improved speed and performance, automatic safety scan, improved dashboard display and an expanded vehicle list.

In addition to maintaining the safety of their own vehicle, CARbonga Version II gives the motorist access to the Safety Recall Notices issued on their car by the manufacturer. Plus, it provides the car owner with Safety Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) sent to the dealer about the car.

This means that when a consumer wants to purchase a used car, they can quickly learn about the “real” history of the vehicle by using CARbonga. The buyer can see how many times a car has been recalled and ask the seller if all recall work has been satisfactorily performed. They can ask the seller if any or all of the recommended work noted in the Technical Service Bulletin has been completed.

“We’re very excited about this new version of CARbonga and what it means to the car owner. Especially for parents who want to be sure their son or daughter is driving a safe vehicle,”
said Rich Parlontieri, President and CEO of Speedemissions. “Not only is this a good value at $9.99, but the fact you can now see potential problem issues the manufacturer had with the car through either the Safety Recall Notice or TSB gives real substance to the app,” added Parlontieri.
