Specialized Bikes hardly needs an introduction. The California-based bicycle maker boasts decades-long experience in delivering two-wheelers for a variety of purposes and budgets, from premium bikes for athletes to MTBs and city bikes, with or without motors.
The latest in a very impressive lineup is the Turbo Como SL, a new take on the now-classic Turbo Como that involves the addition of the Specialized proprietary Super Light system motor. The Turbo Como SL, announced today and available immediately at Specialized retailers, is designed as a “low-maintenance joy machine,” an upright city bike that’s elegant, easy to use, reliable, and oh so much fun. It's also incredibly pretty, thanks to a couple of very bold color options.

The Turbo Como Super Light is a class 3 bike (no torque) and will be offered in two models, the Como SL 4.0 and the Como SL 5.0. It comes equipped with everything you need for a day out in the open air. That includes integrated lighting, wide Nimbus tires, integrated fenders, integrated racks, and the assurance that you’re getting an all-season bike. The internal gear hub, the Gates belt drive, and the hidden wiring means you can ride it regardless of weather—allowing, of course, you don’t personally mind getting wet.

Powered by a 240W Super Light motor that delivers 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) of peak and continuous power and that weighs a mere 4.3 pounds (1.95 kg), Specialized's new bike also tips the scales at 47-48.5 pounds (21.5–22 kg). Compared to most electric city bikes, it’s lightweight. The top speed is 28 mph (45 kph), and Specialized promises assistance is smooth and intuitive, without that “kick” you get when you use the torque on other bikes and without feeling any uneasiness when the motor cuts off once you hit that top speed.

The integrated 320Wh battery delivers 62 miles (100 km) of range in Eco mode; three riding modes are available, further customizable through the app, and there’s also the possibility to ride it without assistance. The range can be further extended by purchasing a separate, removable range extender that adds an additional 31 miles (55 km).

Both models of the new Turbo Como SL are available as of today, March 31, 2021. The Como SL 4.0 costs $4,000, while the Como SL 5.0 is priced $4,800. Now let fashion designer Diana Rikasari talk you through this new bike.
