Specialized Kenevo SL E-MTB Can Slay Any Monster Trail

Specialized just rolled out its new Kenevo Super Light bike. Based on the company's non-electric Enduro model, this is a much lighter 170mm full-suspension e-mountain bike (e-MTB) that's ready to gulp up the trails.
The Kenevo SL takes from the classic Enduro's capabilities, but it adds a little wattage to the picture. Specialized gave it electric support to conquer the bigger trails and deliver "more laps, more jumps, and more drops."

Visually, we can't deny that it looks almost identical to the Enduro. It's a less bulky e-MTB (about 12 lbs/ 5 kg lighter), but it keeps the 29-inch wheels. Its backbone is made of a monocoque Fact 11m carbon frame, which also uses the Enduro's six-bar linkage.

A spacious cockpit gives you plenty of space to move on the bike, improving stability and cornering control. When you hit the trail, the low bottom bracket, slack headtube angle, and reduced fork offset are there to keep things secure.

Spec-wise, the e-MTB motor system combines the bike's 250W motor and 320Wh battery with an advanced integrated controller. As a result, it can reach a top speed of 20 mph (32 kph) and has enough power to pump for 4.5 hours. Its SRAM's premier Eagle AXS XX1 drivetrain, FOX Factory suspension, and the light Roval Traverse SL wheelset are all integrated into the tuned chassis.

The heart of the Kenevo SL is the MasterMind TCU that allows real-time tuning of support levels and enables over-the-air (OTA) updates. It also displays how much of the battery's left, monitors your heart rate, and allows you to adjust power delivery in 10 percent increments, so you can get a personalized experience while pedaling uphill.

Its geometry can be fine-tuned to fit the biker's riding style. It comes with six distinct geometry settings to adjust your bike in any terrain. The head angle can be set between 62.5 and 64.5 degrees, and the bottom bracket height can be adjusted up or down by 7mm.

The Kenevo SL launches in two complete builds and a frameset-only option. The Turbo Kenevo SL Expert is priced at $11,000, while its sibling, S-Works Turbo Kenevo SL, is a little bit pricier at $15,000. The frameset also comes with a cost of $8,500, so you need to fish out your pocket big bucks to hit the dirt with this e-MTB.
