In order to celebrate their back-to-back Dakar Rally win, MINI built a special edition JCW Countryman All4 Dakar edition in collaboration with their drivers, Stephane Peterhansel and Jean-Paul Cottret. Only 11 (It was Peterhansel’s 11th win) of these Limited Edition MINIs will see the light of day.
The car is based on Paceman’s JCW edition that has (for the first time in MINI’s history) a race-bred powertrain and an efficient 4-wheel-drive system that helped the team reach this formidable win in the Dakar Rally. The ALL4 system takes the power of the engine (rated at 218HP) to all 4 wheels of the car, making it almost unstoppable on all kinds of terrain.
The special edition MINI is bringing out will have a Matte Black exterior with Bright Green Racing Stripes on the bonnet, roof and tailgate. These color will also be used on the interior of the car for a complete black and green look. The signature of the Dakar winning driver, Peterhansel will be painted on the bonnet along with the Dakar Rally Winner logo. On the front doors you will now see the number the team had for the event (302) and the names of the victorious pair. The same logo is present at the back, on the tailgate along with the MINI badge in the center and the JCW logo on the right side.
The interior is now colored in black and bright green for an impressive contrast. The gearshift lever gaiter and floor mats have green stitching and the head restraints have the winner’s logo embroidered on them in the same bright green color. The seats are now wrapped up in Gravity Black leather and above the glove compartment you’ll see a special edition logo with the car’s serial number.
The overall “Limited Edition” look of the car is accomplished using 19” alloy wheels in Cross-Spoke Crusher design. All-in-all this MINI really is a special car, not only because of the win in the Dakar Rally but also because of its impressive, different design.
