Spaccaossa is Italian for “Bonecrusher” and judging by the looks of this FMW creation, this machine could really be up to the task. Whether it’s the rider’s bones or the bones of his foes, it’s hard to tell, but this is one awe-inspiring presence.
The Spaccaosso is based on a Yamaha Tenere 600 and the final result of Lorenzo Fugaroli’s painstaking efforts and creative work is even more savage than the “donor” bike. The Fugar eliminated the electric starter and employed a Yamaha TT kick starter unit, while the air box was tossed in favor of a bespoke filter. The carb also got a Dynojet kit for a little more grunt, as if the bike needed it.
FMW modified almost the entire frame, with a new subframe, modified forks, and a completely different rear suspension. While the Tenere had a rear monoshock, the Fugar ditched it and installed a dual-shock array, visually matching the FMW exhaust and silencers. If it wasn’t for the chopped tail, the two megaphone silencers look not unlike the dual-exhaust of the Yamaha R1… and this is really neat.
The intriguing handlebars are also a creation of Lorenzo Fugaroli, just like the radical idea of choosing a lens-type rear wheel. With 100% changed looks and bodywork, it’s only natural that the oil tank and license holder are also FMW originals.
