Well, where do we start with this? Should we tell you that a low-profile carmaker from the US is on the verge of making a name for themselves or that the world will receive a 1,700 HP hybrid megacar?
First, let's meet the car's creators. They go by the name of PSC Motors and come from Las Vegas and apparently, they have a dream that is on the verge of becoming reality.
Their fantasy is all about creating a megacar that uses a hybrid setup made of a mid-mounted 9.0-liter V8 and an electric motor resting on the rear axle. Oh, and the overall power output is rated at around 1,900 HP, so yeah, call us impressed. Kind of.
However, we won't get our hopes up just yet. According to its makers, the new supercar will be able to rip apart the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) interval in 2.8 seconds. The sprint can go on until the speedometer clocks in at 280 mph (450 km/h) and there's an all-electric mode available, but that works only for 30 miles (48 km) or so.
It's pretty clear the unknown-until-now PSC Motors are aiming at Koenigsegg and Ferrari with this new breed of hypercar, but we're not willing to take anything for granted until some palpable evidence shows up.
Speaking of which, the SP-200 SIN will have a carbon fibre composite and aluminium body, but only 35 units will be produced. Speaking to Autocar, the company's officials had a straightforward way of explaining the car's purpose:
“When this project was started five years ago, we wanted to do something new, something special that can pay tribute to some of the world’s fastest cars. Nobody needs 1000 horsepower, so we gave it more.”
On that note, let's just wait and see if PSC Motors are willing to put their money where their mouth is.
