Southwest Fliers Have Musical Take-Off Thanks to Talented Flight Attendant

Passengers on a July 17 Southwest Airlines flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Denver, Colorado were treated by one of the male flight attendants to a live show right before the safety briefing. Part of it was captured on camera by one of the fliers and then shared online by Viral Hog.

Apparently, the intention of the male cabin crew member wasn’t just to show off. He was also hoping he could brighten the day of the passengers, as this was a very early flight.

“A Southwest Airlines flight attendant singing before departure from Phoenix to Denver,” the person who shot the video says in the description, as cited by Viral Hog. “He wanted to start off the morning right and put everyone into a good mood for Denver since it was a 5:40 am flight.”

And he did just that, judging solely by the loud applause he gets at the end of the song. Speaking of which, this is no random karaoke number: the man chose to cover John Denver’s 1972 song “Rocky Mountain High,” which is included on the album “A Song's Best Friend: The Very Best of John Denver.”

You may not know this, but “Rocky Mountain High” is one of the two official state songs of Colorado, and seeing that the plane was headed there, we’d say there was nothing random about the song performed.

All this aside, it’s nice when you find cabin crew members that come off Autopilot mode and actually engage with the passengers, to make their journeys easier, more comfortable and more pleasant. They might not all be as talented at singing as this guy, but every bit helps.
