A man from South Korea embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, which also took him on the famous Nurburgring.
We probably would not have discovered his impressive feat if it were not for the guys at Bridge To Gantry, who met Lee and published his story. Riding straight from Seoul, through all over Asia, Russia, and Europe, the South Korean man traveled 18,000 kilometers (11,184 miles) over the course of 100 days.
If you are somehow not impressed, he did it on an 110-cc Honda SuperCub, a scooter that delivers just 8 horsepower. Evidently, a trip that long requires considerable luggage, so Lee carried it with him, on his trusty bike. On the night of October 5, 2016, Lee arrived at the famous Green Hell, and was greeted by the “regulars” of the area.
Lee told the story of his travels that is not present on his Instagram account, which is sadly kept in Korean. However, we have learned that his fuel tank has a capacity of just four liters (one gallon), which gives him a range of 150 kilometers (93 miles).
His journey will take him to other places in Europe, and we have seen on his Instagram that he has already booked a flight from Paris to Seoul in late October.
We are sincerely impressed by the determination shown by this guy, and so was a German man named Thilo, who decided that the South Korean traveler deserves a fast lap in a SEAT Leon Cupra on the famous Nordschleife. You can see the onboard video embedded below.
After the thrilling lap in the modified SEAT on the track known as “The Green Hell,“ the man that calls himself Jaeyong_92 on Instagram took his scooter on the world famous circuit. He completed a lap of the track, because this is the kind of thing that makes trips like these worth it.
Any adventurer that decides to explore the world should enjoy things like these, as there’s more to traveling than staying in cozy hotels and eating at restaurants.
