And how could you not like it? The new Auris looks a whole lot better than the previous model, it is better equipped and it’s even offered with a hybrid powertrain on some markets.
Design wise, the new Auris gets a sporty and bolder look, is sleeker and sits 10 mm closer to the ground, while its total height was lowered by 55 mm. This translates into a lower gravity center and better handling due to less body roll.
The base Auris x model starts at R 198,000 in South Africa and it’s powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine that develops 73 kW (99 hp) and 128 Nm of torque which is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox that sends the power to the front axle.
Standard features include 15-inch steel wheels, electric color-coded mirrors, full adjustable leather steering wheel with control buttons, power windows, four-speaker audio system with USB and AUX connectivity and other.
