Russia is known for a lot of traffic-related things, most of which are less than flattering for the country or its drivers. However, one of those is the reason why so many funny/scary/stupid car videos from that part of the world end up on the Internet: the proliferation of dashcams.
With bad drivers, scammers, and all kinds of things making roads an unsafe place to be, more and more people resorted to having the cameras installed to provide some backing to their story in case something goes wrong.

Sometimes, though, nothing needs to actually hit the fan, because what the footage captures is scary enough to realize it's only a matter of time until that happens. And when it does, it's going to be ugly. This clip shows one of those scenarios.

The sight of old, beat-up vehicles from the communist era are not an uncommon sight on Russian roads, especially when you move further away from the bigger cities. Some people still rely on them as their only means of transportation, and just like they can't afford a newer vehicle, they can't afford to maintain the old one either.

That means there are plenty of death traps zipping around, which makes the actions of the driver in the dashcam car all the more surprising. Because the natural reaction when you see something that looks just about to fall apart is to move as far away as possible.

This individual, however, went closer for a more detailed inspection. The Lada in front of him hopped around for minutes after every bump in the road, showing it either had malfunctioning shock absorbers, or it had none at all.

It just continued to rock steadily while stopped at a red light, as if it were trying to put a baby inside to sleep. Not that we like entertaining the thought of a baby being onboard that piece of junk. Just as the car seemed to find its balance, sure enough, another rough patch in the road sends it into another bouncing fit, this one even more violent than the one before.

If this were the U.S.A., we'd say that guy was training for a rodeo, but we doubt they indulge in such pastimes over there, so we're sticking to our initial assumption. We're just very curious to know what the local police would have to say if they saw this driving past them, because in our book, that's one vehicle that has no business being on a public road.
