SMS Supercars Reveals White, Yellow and Black Label Mustangs

Last spring, Steve Saleen's new company, SMS Supercars, unveiled its 2011 302 Mustang. The upgrades were available in two stages of tune, with the standard 302 producing 440 horsepower (naturally aspirated) and the more powerful supercharged 302SC churning out 535 horsepower. For the 2012 model year, the tuner has decided to change things up a bit, offering three models named after colors.

The color labels are meant to trigger an emotional response from customers, just like the strength of cigarettes is determined by the color of the packs. “The expanded model lines are a tribute to his racing heritage colors, marketed under the White, Yellow, and Black Labels,” according to the official press release.

Let’s start with the SMS 302 White Label, the least powerful of the bunch, which makes 440 horsepower and gets performance suspension, exhaust, interior ergonomics and exterior styling, all for MSRP of $35,540 (plus transportation, tax, title, registration).

Moving on, the SMS 302 Yellow Label get all of the White Labels features plus 545 horsepower (supercharged) an SMS 19" wheel/tire assemblies. The MSRP for this one is $45,540 lus transportation, tax, title, registration.

Last but not least is the Black Label model, which gets advanced aerodynamic body components, his S4 suspension, SMS leather interior, 575 horsepower, and many other features and options. The tuner can also provide custom paint, while also maintaining assembly line uniformity.

"I wanted to produce the finest vehicles in keeping with my performance and lifestyle philosophy and succeeded with the previously released top of the line SMS vehicles. Like many consumers and enthusiasts, I recognize the economic challenges facing us and want to provide additional choices, well within the purchase consideration of a very wide range of buyers"
stated Steve Saleen.
