smart Opens Pop-Art Gallery in Brazil

After launching the fortwo model on the Brazilian market in April this year, smart now decided to offer artists from Sao Paolo a pop-up platform that combines a gallery, shopping, showroom and events relating to the themes of urban mobility, creativity and ecological sustainability.

This will all take place on the smart Urban Stage from August 27 to September 10. The platform will be initiated by the project ROJO Out by smart and will gather eight international streetart artists to decorate Sao Paolo’s public areas.

“smart is an urban brand that questions the status quo in a confident and unconventional way. With the Urban Stage, we are establishing a creative platform which will be lent a unique atmosphere by the streetart artists of São Paulo,” said Marc Langenbrinck, Director of Brand Management, Sales & Marketing at smart in a release for the press.

The gallery is located at “Rua Oscar Freire 512”, which is currently just a plain room. However, Tony de Marco and Apo Fousek (Brazil), Eltono (France), MWM (USA) and Ovni and Nuria Mora (Holland/Spain), will transform the smart Urban Stage into a collective work of art in just two weeks.

Moreover, a smart fortwo will also be turned into an artcar in the first days of the event by Ovni and MWM. The colette and smart collection that we were telling you about one month ago is also available in the shop, gathering the work of five international designer labels.

Two weeks before the smart Urban Stage opens for public, the “ROJO OUT by smart” will be launched. Several artists will cover eleven concrete buildings in prominent areas of the city with outsize murals in just three weeks.
