Daimler's smart has introduced two new special editions of the ForTwo and ForFour models, with deliveries to begin in the UK at the end of February.
Called Edition White and Edition Black, they are based on the Prime Trim line and add the Urban Style and the Premium packages as standard. The two limited editions come with an assortment of standard features.

Both feature a three-spoke sports steering wheel with perforated leather, brushed stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs, 16-inch Y-spoke-alloy wheels finished in black, exhaust system with chrome-plated tailpipe, wheel-arch extensions with smart lettering, height adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat, heated and electronically adjustable exterior mirrors, rear parking assistance and Smart media system including European satellite navigation. forfour models feature privacy glass in the rear.

While the Edition White models have white tridion cells, white body panels, and a white grille, the Edition Black comes with black bodywork, Black Tridion cells and a black grille, as you would expect. An optional white Tridion cell is available at a cost of 100 pounds.

Both editions can be ordered with either a 71 horsepower naturally-aspirated or 90 horsepower turbo three-cylinder gasoline engine, linked to a five-speed manual or six-speed Twinamic automatic gearbox.

If you take into account that the fortwo special editions have over 1,500 pounds worth of equipment and you “only” pay an extra 895 pounds compared to the standard model, and the forfour offers 1,660 pounds worth of features, giving customers over 760 pounds worth of extra value, it sounds like a pretty good deal.

Customers who want to acquire one of the two versions must know that the smart fortwo starts at 12,360 pounds and the smart forfour at 12,855 pounds. Both are expected to hit the showrooms in late February.

For those who can wait a little longer, until March, the hardcore tuner Brabus is expected to launch its version of the forfour at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, so it’s worth the wait.
