The only way to enhance the appeal of a small car that people are ignoring is to give them special editions. These usually are nothing more that combinations of paint and equipment levels designed to make you think yours is so much more special.
The latest edition of the smart fortwo is no exception. It’s called the sharpred, and no, we haven’t forgotten where the Shift button is on our keyboards. This is just how smart names everything.

The sharpred edition is based on the new version of the fortwo and will be available in limited numbers in both Coupe and Cabrilet form, powered by either the 84 or the 71 hp versions of the 1.0 liter engine. That’s what smart wants us to tell you, but really, they are making 1,800 of them, which is more than enough until the next edition comes.

What makes the fortwo sharpred so special is the two-tone theme, with black covering most of the body with the exception of the areas where the safety cell sticks out, where red has been applied. The rest of the car, including the wheels and grille are all blacked out.

Prices in Germany start at €14,490 for the 70 hp coupe and go up €18,150 for the 84 hp cabrio.
