Next time we're going to be vehement against a statement that everyone seems to take for granted remind us to pipe down a bit and wait for further proof for or against us.
We say this because in the SLS AMG Final Edition saga in the last couple of weeks we were the only media outlet repeatedly saying that it's not going to happen, but it seems that our optimism was way too exaggerated compared to what the bean counters at Mercedes-Benz were planning all along.
With that being said, we're offering a mea culpa and present you the very real Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition in both Coupe and Roadster guise, along with the recently unveiled S 65 AMG leviathan.
Set to be manufactured in a limited edition run of just 350 units, the Final Edition of the SLS AMG will only be available based on the GT version, which means it offers the same 591 hp (583 bhp) and 650 Nm (479 lb ft) of torque.
We're actually disappointed, both with Mercedes-Benz for doing this and with ourselves for being too sentimental about what we thought was a model that still had life in it for a couple more years. It seems that our original reports about the SLS AMG demise are completely true.
