Launched last year with all the bells and whistles that such a creation deserves, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is arguably the most hardcore production three-pointed star vehicle in history, that unless low-production models like the CLK-GTR are kept out from the official counting.
In essence, the SLS AMG Black Series is an SLS AMG on steroids, with the car having received an extensive overhaul which includes a bump in power and a rather impressive diet that makes it 70 kilograms (approximately 150 pounds) lighter than the “regular” modern Gullwing.

Its monstrous M159 engine currently holds the title for the world's most powerful naturally-aspirated V8, with no less than 631 hp (622 bhp) and 635 Nm (468 lb ft) of torque being extracted from the massive 6.2-liter V8.

The range of modifications compared to the “standard” SLS AMG could fit a small book by themselves, but we are mainly interested in the engine upgrades, especially since the M159 in the Black Series is about as close you can get to a downright racing engine in production car that you can drive to the mall with hordes of car-spotters following you.

Apparently, an SLS AMG Black Series client didn't think much of those 631 hp and 635 Nm (468 lb ft) of torque, so he took his car to the German chip-tuning specialists from mcchip-dkr.

Believe it or not, mcchip-dkr managed to extract even more power from the model's powerplant via only an ECU tune. In other words, for a somewhat modest EUR 3,199.00, the SLS AMG Black Series in the adjacent images can deliver no less than 654 hp (645 bhp) and 649 Nm (479 lb ft) of torque. Color us impressed.
