It used to be the case the every European country wanted to have its own army, then its own cannon, then a machinegun and then airplanes. Things are a bit more peaceful these days, but the arms race is continuing with the race to build supercars.
This strange and wonderful machine is called the Tushek Renovation T500 and it comes from Slovenia, a country not known for building sportscars of any kind. The T500 is heading to the UK now, in order to make its official debut at the 2012 edition of Salon Privé on September 5.
The car is built on the tubular chassis of another supercar you’ve never heard of, the K1 Attack from Slovakia. Meanwhile, the body is carbon fiber and the engine is the 450 PS 4.2-liter V8 from the Audi RS4.
Unlike the bulky RS4, this two-seater only weighs 1,090 kg (2,403 lbs), so the first 100 km/h (62 mph) is hit in 3.7 seconds on the way to a top speed of 311 km/h (193 mph).
The Renovatio is built to order and costs about €300,000 ($370,000) each.
