Sooner or later, people are going to realize that German cars from the late 2000s and early 2010s are cool. None of them have what you'd call "iconic styling", especially not this Audi TT, but the balance between quality and modern performance is good.
The original Audi TT, the one from 20 years ago, is becoming a collectible, even though it spent most of those years being called 'ugly.' We get why it's cool now, but it can never match the performance of this second-generation Audi TT RS.

The baby RS was a sister to the original RS3 and offers performance that's surprising even today. Hidden behind a cute, bubbly body is the famous 2.5-liter turbo engine.

It's not the lighter aluminum version Audi makes now, but the 340 horsepower monster will send this quattro rocket from 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.4 seconds. Toward the end of the life cycle, Audi also made a 360 horsepower that needed only 4.2 seconds for the same sprint.

The 2.5 TFSI is famous for its drag racing applications. That's why you see many TTs tearing down the strip with racing tires on. However, customizing the car is an entirely different thing. The shape is rather difficult to work with, much like the RS5. So tuners have stayed away from offering body kits.

Purely by accident, we found this interesting build from Michigan. It's the only TT RS we've seen modified in this way. The blue smurf sports a body kit that we think is tailor-made for the car, with fender flairs that accommodate wider tires.

The show stopper also boasts a chin spoiler and a carbon rear wing. The Audi community also loves to put Thule roof boxes on sports cars. You see them all the time on R8s, and the style gets replicated here. Even with the extra luggage space, it's not an ideal vacation car unless you're going to a track.
