The Skoda Yeti came out six years ago, so I don't remember very much about the launch event. But I bet there was at least one guy who said "wait… Yeti… isn't that the name of a monster?"
Some joked that if all the other Skodas are named after daughters of the company founder, Yeti must be the illegitimate son. Well, the joke is on them because not only is the SUV selling well, but the advertising campaigns are a lot funnier because of the connection to this legendary hominid.

What we're showing you is a print ad from Leo Burnett made for Skoda. They turned the features of the car into a monster that's been shot by a hunter and turned into a rug, just like you'd do with a bear or tiger.

It's not politically correct, and PETA will probably picket Skoda, but we can't help but have a good laugh. The lower grille has been turned into teeth; the headlights are now eyes and even the mirrors were used as ears.

We give kudos to the guy with the mad photoshop skills that made all this happen. After all, he integrated the bonnet and windshield into the design. And if you look closely enough at the paws, they appear to be hubcaps or wheels.

By launching this ad, Skoda is hoping its buyers are going to feel wild and adventurous. Of course, they're mostly elderly and discrete. Still, we can say a lot of good things about this car. For instance, a basic with FWD is about as cheap as a Renault Capur, but much bigger inside. The Yeti also rides well and has powerful engines available.

Editor's note: Why is the monster purple? Pixar and all the other animation studios think there's something scary about the color of flowers and berries.
