This is the case of Skoda and their dealership in UK. Their creative director found an interesting yet icy way of celebrating the launch of the new Skoda Yeti Outdoor.
It appears that they took the said vehicle and actually froze it inside a giant block of ice in Covent Garden, London.
According to Communications Manager at Skoda UK Sarah Chapman this was the company’s way of portraying the idea of “ breaking free from everyday life, seizing the day and having those adventures with your family.”
Making everything possible wasn’t that easy as they had to use crystal clear ice in order to have people see what was inside the giant block of ice. Besides this, it seems that they had a contest and even a Yeti mascot.
The contest consisted of guessing the weight of the car combined with the block of ice, the prize being a Skoda Yeti vehicle. The entire idea worked out pretty well, people showing a lot of interest in Skoda’s new Yeti.
