A few days after presenting the first images of the Vision RS, Czech manufacturer Skoda released a new video, giving us a glimpse at the concept car’s interior.
To be shown for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in October, the Vision RS is, at least until the official specs are released, all about carbon.
The material was used for the exterior of the car and can be found on the main grille, on the chin spoiler, and on the side skirts. At the interior, carbon is the name of the game too, with a center console completely made from it.
Carbon can also be found on the sports seats, and the specially designed loops replacing the door handles.
The carmaker makes quite a fuss about this material they used, saying it was made from 100 percent recycled polyester.
.Hand-cut lead glass decorates the interior, in the center of which sits the the infotainment system touchscreen. The entire dashboard can flood the interior of the Vision RS in various lighting effects, including with RS-design animations, thanks to a lighting solution fitted in the car.
On the technical side, there’s little to go on at this point. The only figures available for now are those pertaining to the car’s dimensions: 4,263 mm in length, 1,799 mm in width and 1,465 mm in height, all mounted on a 2,626 mm wheelbase.
The Vision RS will not be the only Skoda novelty for the Paris event. Skoda’s booth at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles will be home to the first SUV to join the RS range, the Kodiaq vRS.
This is a car powered by the most powerful production diesel engine in SKODA history, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI that generates 239 PS and 500 Nm of torque.
As for the Vision RS, it is not the first car to wear the name. Last March, Skoda pulled the wraps off the Vision X, a small crossover powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 130 HP and 200 Nm (147l b-ft).
Expect more details on the Vision RS in the coming weeks. Until then, have a look at the video below.
