Skoda Superb Combi Teaser Released

Getting ready for the unveiling at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show next month, the newest addition to the Skoda range, the Estate, came to tease us today as the first photo of the car has been released. Although details about the estate have yet not been presented, a few things are known about the car.

"The car is a logical continuation of the Superb model series and offers an ideal combination of practicality and elegance. The estate version follows on from the hatchback, the current generation of which has found more than forty-two thousand owners, in just over a year since it was launched," Skoda said in a release.

The estate version of Skoda's flagship vehicle will likely get a wide range of engines, both gasoline and diesel, with outputs ranging from 125 hp to 170 hp. As for displacement, most of the units will be in the 1.4l range, with a top of the line 3.6l V6, developing 260 hp rumored to complete the line-up.

"The newest addition to the Superb range extends the tradition of estate versions that are typical of what customers have become used to in Škoda cars -timeless design and spacious interior that make the Superb estate an ideal car for every driver who requires a comfortable, reliable car in all circumstances."

The release of the estate version of the Superb is planned by Skoda as yet another step towards doing its part within the Volkswagen Group and helping it beat Toyota. Recently, the Czech manufacturer announced the release for the Chinese market of the Superb Hao Rui, the Chinese-spec Superb.
